Thought for the day…

Week of May 15, to May 21, 2022

Sun. May 15                                          Fifth Sunday of Easter

Authentic prayer both transcends and unfolds all human realities.

Servant of God, Bishop William Giaquinta

Suggestion:  Pray to God to guide you.

Mon. May 16         Every grace granted to man has 3 degrees in this order: for by God it is communicated

to Christ, from Christ is passes to the Virgin, from the Virgin it descends to us

                                                                                                                      Saint Bernardine of Siena

Suggestion: Suggestion:  Pray to Mary to intercede for you to her Son

Tue. May 17        Mary’s gaze! How important this is! How many things can we say with

a look! Affection, encouragement, compassion, love, but also disapproval,

                                envy, pride, and even hatred

                                                                                                                                                   Pope Francis

Suggestion:   Try and forgive someone who hurt you from the heart.

Wed. May 18                                     Feast of St. John I

The trial we encounter for our faith and our commitment to the Gospel are

occasions to give witness; we must not distance ourselves from the Lord, abandon

ourselves to the power of the Spirit and his grace.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Pope Francis

Suggestion:   Pray with the realization nothing is impossible for God.

Thu. May 19           My grace is sufficient for you for my power is made perfect in weakness.

2 Cor. 12:9                                               Suggestion: Know that HIS power can accomplish all things.

Feast of St. Bernardino da Siena

Fri. May 20       Authentic Prayer…becomes confidence, humility, deep faith and poverty acting on behalf of our brothers and sisters.

Sat. May 21        In the dead of winter St. Rita asked her cousin to get a rose from the garden in her village.  The cousin reluctantly went after her protests were met with St. Rita responding “My dear cousin there is nothing impossible to God.” The cousin went and found a single rose on the rosebush.

                                                                                                                              St. Rita of Cascia

Suggestion:   Pray for the grace to embrace the cross that is before you.
